The Industrial Audiometry Competent Person Training Course covers audiometric testing for people and companies who need to carry out hearing tests for employees. The course gives practical training on carrying out hearing tests as well as covering the theory and information about noise and acoustics for hearing tests so results can be analysed and understood.

This course is designed specifically for people who are responsible for or who run audiometric testing programmes in industry. Organisations require such programmes to be run by a competent person.
Aims and Objectives
This course is designed to give the delegates an in-depth working knowledge of audiometric testing programmes through practical learning. The high content of hands-on experience with both manual and automatic audiometers leaves attendees ready-to-go.
The course focuses heavily on the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) Guidelines Note MS26.

Course Overview
The course consists of 2 modules, which are structured in the following way.
Module 1 Three Day Course
Day 1 of the course covers subjects from basic acoustics through to the principles of monitoring audiometry. Day 2 is dedicated to techniques of audiometry and is very hands-on. Day 3 looks at issues related to Hearing Conservation Programmes (HCP) and Personal Protection.
Module 2 Examination
This is an optional examination which has both written and practical elements. It is held at the end of Day 3 and forms the basis of the course assessment. Passing the examination results in a Certificate of Competence. A certificate of attendance will be given to anyone who does not enter or does not pass the exam.
